2. Request Proximity Reader Entitlement from Apple

Task owner: FI Apple Account Holder

Tap to Pay requires your financial institution to seek permission from Apple to access an Apple device's proximity reader (the technology within a device that can read chip-enabled and Apple Wallet devices for payments). Download a PDF of how to request entitlements here. To request entitlements:

  1. Log into developer.apple.com with the Apple ID used to create your developer account with Apple (that's important).
  2. Make sure the membership details of your financial institution are up to date within the account (Address, DUNS, etc.). For the website field, enter your public-facing website URL.
  3. Go to https://developer.apple.com/contact/request/tap-to-pay-on-iphone/.
  4. Complete the form with "Autobooks+NCR" as the PSP. Complete the other form fields as follows:
    1. None
    2. None
    3. Employees within my organization
    4. United States
    5. Submit
  5. Notify Autobooks when the form is submitted. We will inform Apple to expedite the approval.
Note: please wait 24 hours for Apple's response before escalating any concerns to implementations@autobooks.co.
3. Confirm Tap to Pay Launch Timeline

Task owner: Project Leader

5. Test Tap to Pay within mobile app in Test Flight

Task owner: Testing/QA

In order for your testing team to interact with your updated mobile app in Test Flight:

  1. Your mobile banking provider will submit the updated app with Tap to Pay on iPhone included to TestFlight, then notify you when testing may start.

  2. Your NCR Project Manager will provide a testing guide checklist.

You may find the Tap to Pay Support Center articles helpful while troubleshooting.

7. FI grants approval for NCR to submit App with Tap to Pay to App Store

Task owner: Project Leader

Once testing is complete, indicate to both NCR and Autobooks that the mobile app may be submitted to the App Store for final approval. Please send approval to Autobooks via implementations@autobooks.co

8. Publish approved app to the App Store on agreed Launch Date

Task owner: Project Leader

The last (and most important step) is for your mobile app to be published within the App Store:

  1. Apple will approve the mobile app submission from your mobile banking app provider.

  2. Your mobile banking app provider will notify you (and Autobooks) that your mobile app is ready to be published to the App Store. Your NCR Project Manager will perform the final step to publish the app.

  3. Your NCR Project Manager will notify Autobooks that your app has been published. Once published, we ask that you also confirm your final publish date with Autobooks.
